I wondered what this M6 owner was thinking about this e30 M3

Maybe some people don't like to wave? I was on my way here to the library today and I saw an e46 M3, I got next to him to give him a thumbs up, but he wouldn't even look over... Not even at the 2nd stop light...

Bah ha ha. I love it.

At a recent track day I had a fairly frustrating afternoon with an M6 driver. He'd have to get out of my way for the corners and then on the straights he would just catch me again. He had an ecu flash, exhaust, intake and suspension and about $10K worth of HRE wheels.

We talked after and he said something along the lines of, you were driving really great if you could catch me in a 3.

Ya, guess I was...

M5 drivers are chill...everyone I have encountered have always given the thumbs up or acknowledged the 3...

M6's ...I get nothing from....but I don't care....although its always nice to acknowledge fellow M drivers.

Agreed

I actually know of a situation where "buddy's" wife took his m6 and her boyfriend ran it into a UPS truck.

Awkward... I think she ended up saying it was her fault and putting the damage to both on her Amex for "buddy" to pay.

Poor bastard.

The 6 series is my lest favorite BMW, and I am sure I'll take heat for this, but I just don;t see M6 drivers are true M enthusiats. I don't know why, but I feel that most M3/M5 drivers have a passion for M.

I could not agree more. It's not just that M3/M5 owners are M enthusiasts - more importantly, they (we) are car enthusiasts. I would not be surprised if many M6 owners buy that vehicle simply for *bling* value, with little understanding or appreciation of the sheer technical awesomeness, racing heritage, performance capabilities, etc that constitutes an //M car.

Funny I saw this post, usually the guys in M3's are nice, even the ones in a 5 but the ones in a 6 have to be the worst. I just had one guy ride up close behind me and then pull around and floor it. I let him prove his point this time but NOT NEXT TIME.
