They even got the wheels down to the same 16 spokes as the oh so popular mesh style wheels for the m3. Cough Cough P40s in matte black.
Damn they must surf mpost a lot.

That seems very unlikely IMHO - that an aftermarket diffuser, likely developed without wind tunnel time, somehow made the M3 significantly more stable.

The weight saving it roughly what I expected, especially when you consider the amount of standard kit that's been removed. Should be a delight to drive for the lucky few.
I'm surprised nothing has been mentioned about the DSC, I honestly thought we would have seen subtle differences between the M3 and this. One of the most beautiful BMWs ever and in that colour it's plain glorious. P.S. Where this is a plainer focus racer you will see the M version of the 1series being very much in the spirit of the orginial E30 M3, i.e. light and not with mountains of power. Whether it's actually called an M1 is doubtful but you never know. |

Looks stellar -that color is amazing - and from the video it sounds incredible, too. Pisser they won't bring it here. For those doing the price conversions (even though they don't compare from one market to the other), at least take out 19% VAT before you convert.
Thanks again to Savage, LMB and others for the info in advance on this. |

That is definitely very bada**!!! I think this car is going to be extremely quick.
At 3278 lbs, it is 360 lbs lighter than the regular M3, which in turn is exactly how E46 CSL was to E46 M3. 363 lbs. I am now even more curious since the response of the engineer was a laugh and "you will see. you will be surprised" when asked about Nurburgring lap times. Now, BMW really went all-out giving it a new motor that produces more torque across the rev range while keeping the redline the same (or possibly higher). I am sure the new 4.4 Liter V8 will respond to mods even better than the S65. With bolt-ons and tune, 510 - 520 HP would be easily achieved. I think people (including myself in the wake of the 3-ton heavy pig-twins X5 M5 and X6 M ) who said "BMW is a sell-out" have now been silenced by BMW by bringing this masterpiece. BMW everything right here, like it or not. They left no stone unturned.

It took quite a bit of pushing before ex CEO Willisch & new CEO Dr. Segler finally understood what we (the European M owners) expected M Ltd. to build as a next real sports car, when they polled the question in MPW. Thatīs why the German article heads "Dreamed out, a dream becomes reality" - or better said a wish comes through After all the years of criticism at last ///M has done it again : a new star is born ! Thank you BMW ///M !!!

We'll have to see if they bring it to the US and if so at what price. I know they want to compete with the 2010 GT3, but unless the changes are more than what you can get from RDSport. We might be better off with stripped RS46's like Konigstiger.

Why are you converting it? How do you know it will cost $170K?? Every car in Europe/Australia after conversion will appear more expensive. For example, M3 costs 80,000 Euros in Germany. That is $124,000 CAD or $118,000 USD.
Are you aware that the quoted 117,000 Euros includes a 17% European tax as well?? I can guarantee you are not aware of that. If it does come to North America, I would say it will be priced to compete against a Z06 or ZR1. Just over $100K in US maximum.

Hello Great White. It was a nice experience. I learned something like usual.... At least let me say I am happy that people can consider me not a "LIAR". That's the main thing for me. Next time I will think a lot before to share something, be sure....

Second: The GTS was introduced to certain customers on Monday & will NOT be purchacable over the normal BMW dealerships, if you want one you will have to go to BMW Munich directly ! There will be no discussions about the price unless more is added or induviduals are made. BTW the M3īs over here start at 67550 not 80k
