Quick Question: 08 vs 09? What differences?

Hey guys, just a quick question. I'm gonna be buying a used E92 M3 soon and want to know what the differences are between the 08 and 09 models?

I originally was looking for just 09 for the updated idrive stuff and I usually don't like buying first production years of a new model but I came across that thread where that guy can retrofit the newer navi into the 08s so I could do that if it bothered me enough...

So, are there ay differences worth noting in the 09s over the 08s?

...I would search but I'm at work and for whatever reason that functions not working on these damn government computers.

Thanks!

Think they did something with the pulley as well. If you get an underdrive pulley mod, they will ask if your M3 was produced before or after Nov 08, if I'm recalling the date correctly.

Here's a DIY for the clutch spring removal. I have not done this yet but am considering it.

Nothing was done to the pulley itself... Instead the belt was changed to have threads on both sides instead of just one side thus making it harder and more exspensive to find replacement belts...

Also 08's have had valve spring failures they updated the bearings in the 09's as well I think

09 is much better iDrive and just overall better for the price difference

Is there a way to have the dealer preemptively address this? It is a simple fix? No valve spring issues here, but would hate to have something like that come up. Car is out of warranty in a year.

Yeah the updated iDrive is actually a big seller for me, took me a while to realize but apparently I like technology and gadgets in my car. and I just stumbled upon a few threads about the valve springs. I think by the time I buy (later this year) I'll have more options for 09s in my price range and I won't even be considering 08s.
