evolve exhaust for E9X M3

Here are some pictures of our new exhaust for the E9X M3.

The brief was to produce an exhaust that was of a high build quality, with a distinctive sound/minimal drone and good power gains.

More details including dyno charts and sound clips to follow.

There will be a choice of tips: Black Chrome (as pictured) and Titanium with burnt tips(pictures to follow).

It will be available as:

1.Full system including an X Pipe with primary cat delete and 100 cell secondary cats. (Priced at £3199 inc VAT for EU and $3999 USD for those outside the EU)
2.Rear exhaust with connecting pipes. (Priced £1400 inc VAT for EU and $1787 USD for those outside the EU)
3.X Pipe (as used in the full system) - will mount to OEM rear exhaust and most of the aftermarket rear boxes that use connecting pipes. (£1799 inc VAT for EU and $2296 for those outside of the EU).

Discounts will be available for M3post members.

Yeah but that's stupid to knock off another company's exhaust.. I wonder if Akra is going to take legal actions.. Just saying.

Agreed. But I still want to hear it

However, it may look like the Akra but I am sure the build quality and craftsmanship is worlds away.

Price? Sound? Dyno?

Rumor was right.
According to my source, Akra and AA drunk too much at the MFest.
Then they hooked up after party.
(with condoms they borrowed from Dinan).

Some facts for you to consider:

1) The X-Pipe is exactly in the same location as the stock system
2) The H-Pipe cannot go anywhere else and we have calculations to show that it's exactly one pulse width of the exhaust system in order to cancel out low frequencies. Therefore the H-Pipe cannot go anywhere else.
3) Bore size is larger than Akrapovic
4) The Helmoltz Chamber on the rear exhausts is no new thing, many companies use it on their exhausts.
5) Compare the bends on other exhausts and then look at this exhaust. You'll find it's very different at both the downpipe and axle back areas.
6) The entire exhaust is a 3 piece design, not a 5 piece.
7) Our X-Pipe is different.
8) Our resonators are completely different sizes

Our exhaust sounds very different to what's currently on the market.
Some exhausts are too loud, some are too quiet. This is designed to sit right in the middle but with minimal drone (which many want).

it does look like a nice piece of kit... video or sound clip?

I notice the AA's new x-pipe has 200 cell cats, why only go for 100 cell? what are the advantages/disadvantages?

Can you please PM me a price shipped to 22302. It seems, thus far, that this exhaust has the best features of the best exhausts currently on the market. Cool!

I thought the AA was ugly, but that thing is REALLY ugly! I'll bet it sounds nice though.

The mid section should sound different than than the akra due to it being SS instead of TI, and different HFC's and resonators. But the basic design looks very very similar.

I'm interested in the rear section. Though similar concept to AA, the actual mufflers on these are bigger, and I'm sure it will sound much different.

Will have sound clips/videos, performance figures and final pricing by the end of this end.

The development car had some other modification on it so we are going to do a back to back test on a standard car before publishing any figures. The initial dyno results are very promising though and I think the sound is exotic without being too loud.

Is the bore size larger immediately from the exhaust manifold?

If so, I think this will cause a worse low RPM torque dip than what you see on the Akrapovic system.

Why go for a larger bore size?

Good question!

It doesn't create a bigger torque dip.

We have had many cars with most of the well known X-Pipes on our dyno and they all create some sort of torque dip.

Even a standard E92 M3 is very difficult to dyno under 2500rpm without causing dips and spikes in the curve so it's actually very difficult to guage a difference under this rpm.

Anyway, I don't think many people care what happens with ANY exhaust under 2500rpm on a hig revving motor. If we want power under 2500rpm then the 335d is probably a much better option.
