No more cats but a new tune?
I've ran a cat back system over the past year on my E90 M3 along with an ECU tune, DCT and coding flash. But I just decided to go full cat less. Do I really have to pay another grand for a new flash to accommodate the new setup? Or is there a better alternative?

I've got a BPM stage 2 tune now, but I think they do the same with updating tunes. |

Just went catless on Friday and I did not do anything except tune the o2 for higher flow based on Alex@Alpine which tunes out the CEL. Nothing else was changed. At the track i was getting way higher top speeds for some reason so the car was either making more power or I was just getting better.

Care to elaborate more on what the alpine o2 tune actually does?

I purchased 02 extenders from fabspeed, i got them for dirt cheap, but they list for 150. Simply install between exhaust pipe and O2. Havent had a fault code for 5000 miles and my readiness monitors are all "complete"

as stated above it lets the post cat O2 sensor account for higher flow which in turn prevents a CEL from lighting up. other tunes simply suppress the CEL by leaving the rear O2 in a not "ready state" which will not allow you to pass any OBD2 related emissions tests.

i'm surprised this worked for you..many others have tried the j-style o2 extensions with no luck. you're one of the lucky ones!
