i wanted to know if you still need to file a state tax if u itemized your federal?

its a legitimate question please no trolling. my regular tax guy moved so i had to go to somebody new. i normally do standard deduction , but the new itemized my federal and didn't give me any paperwork for my state tax

You always have to file federal and state... having itemized deductions doesn't even factor in (I assume that's what you mean). You also have to pay federal and state taxes.
Yes that's what I meant. Thx for the info. Now time for me to go ask the tax preparer for my state tax refund.
