Shift lights

Just had a possibly unusual / strange experience with the shift lights in my 08 E92 DCT. The first light came on at 5500 rpm in first but then in second the first light only came on at 6500 rpm.

Is that normal / consistent with other people's experience ?

Not sure if this is relevant but I have had the new progman 31.1 installed.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that the shift lights triggered depending on how fast you approach redline. Since first is a rather short gear, you would hit redline faster in first than in second, hence the shift lights coming on earlier in first gear.

It's variable.

My lights only come up near the redline.
Not sure, but maybe 7900 rpm.

i am sure that after 31.2 the shift lights come on significantly later. I guess due to the quicker shift response.
