FYI Turn 2 is having a lapping day at the Ridge in a few weeks (Sat, June 14th)...I'll be taking my M3 for the first time (I've done lots of track days, but this will be the 1st w/ this car). It's filling up fast, would be cool to see some other E9X M3's out there.

yeah, makes sense w/ the summer season having so many track days. On other car forums, we've used this type of thread to inform some drivers (usually novices) when we'd be going to a track or autoX day...that way they can choose the same event and have someone to help them out (everything from registration to tire pressures to ride-alongs).

this will be my first track day in the M3 (just bought it last month)...way too excited to finally drive it in anger!

Even though just a few post it is useful to try and attend the same days. I may not respond but look at the days wootwoot, onemoremod, Santo, Nic do and try to make it happen. Only problem is you guys focus on the Washington tracks and I tend to go to the Oregon tracks......... I say post your track videos and write ups in the general track section so we are not forgotten here in the PNW!

BTW Took the stock E92 M3 out to PIR yesterday. Good day and dropped a second off my time. 1:28 dead. Stock susp. engine, brakes......just camber plates, cobalt XR-1 (gone in one day) and BFG-R1. But man I had to nail the second lap to make that time.....3rd. lap and the brakes, oil in the stocks, bushes, and tires went down hill quick. Even after 2 cool down laps the car would not come back. The tires would just be too hot and with the steel belts could not cool down again. Yokohama slicks do not have much steel and 1/2 lap are good to go either at the beginning to session or after a cool down and hit it again. But Yokos are way too sticky for the stock suspension.........
Edit: My stock rotors were thin and now cracked all the way through. Time to look at replacement options OEM, PFC direct drive.......BBK would be nice!

you're just an awesome driver primebmw! .. its the nut behind the wheel that makes the difference .. I heard 1moremod is killing it at pacific today! he's busy texting me with lap times and every time its lower than his last lap time. lol! I'm so jealous, wish I could have gone.

I might try and come this Sunday but need to work up the balls to ask my wife .. she's not too happy with my track day schedules.

You know the E92 mod roadmap Greg...I like how the 92 is coming back out of the drawer lately! Do it. BTW I have a set of pretty OK front OEM rotors that have been sitting for 3 years.
Come to the Ridge on Saturday for NASA HPDE or TT everyone. They run a great event and are in their 2nd year of setting up the NW division.

I know. I have had an eye out for a used AP racing BBK to match what I have on the E46 M3 for starts but no luck (spare parts in case enduro racing ). I think BBK and nice coil overs I could get in high 25s. But probably best to put 10K into the race car instead.

From what I have seen and heard about Proformance it is one of my least favorite groups to run with. No rides so no private coaching nor fun rides, their unwillingness to police slow or dangerous drivers is concerning plus they mix inexperienced drivers with extremely fast cars/drivers. Now this has been my experience including 2 times at Pacific. I would love that they have made changes or different at The Ridge..........

If anything I will come up for NASA on Saturday.

IMO Everyone's the same - its just luck! some days are good, some are bad. I've had my share of fun and issues at T2, Pro, Hooked On.. all have their ups and downs.

What kind of times do you guys run at the Ridge? In my stock 135i I was running a 2:05, and in my lotus 7 replica I ran a 1:54s....I'm assuming the M3 will be somewhere between??

Fwiw I moved my track day to Monday June 16th with VCMC...easier to skip work and maintain family weekend time . There's still some spots available and they're a good group to run with.

wow...you guys are quick! When I was running my lotus 7 replica at the ridge (1:54's), it was always interesting when I ran near another car w/ similar times...my 7 had great power/weight (~190HP & 1,400lbs), so cornering transition & exit power was wonderful, but top speed killed me b/c Aero forces start to dominant on the straights (so I’d loose ground to GT3s, M3s,….).

Are you guys close to stock...or have lots of mods? My M3 is a DD, so it'll remain near stock level (except for pads & AD08R tires).
