Just thought I'd post some more pics of the GTR now that it has been finished from its first test day last friday!!! All went well overall apart from finding out the diff wasn't up to scratch in the last session. A much stronger one is one the way!!!

Will be getting to know it over the next 18 months or so in sprint days hill climbs and a few tarmac rallies. I would like to run it in GT and maybe do a couple of 12 hour races. Bathurst would be great...

Thanks for that. Unfortunately no times for that session as it was an untimed practice session and we weren't trying to drive it too fast on the first day. Should have some times after the next session.

Thanks mate, had it out last Friday for it's second day. It had been a long three months between that and the first but oh my god this thing moves and is V8 supercar loud!! The next day will be working on suspension setup and then it should be right to start driving in some serious sprint days, Tarmac rallies maybe even some sports sedan races once log booked...

Will update more after it's been out again...

Hey Vin, had a few teething issues with it so far. Basically finding out where all the weak points are with all that power!! Had the diff re built after the first outing with all drexler internals and also changed the ratio to suit aussie tracks better. I took it out in mid March after that and other things were changed and on the third session out on the track it did a big end bearing which obviously meant that our day was done. Luckily we had the track to ourselves so the embarrassment was kept to a minimum. Was the engine was taken out of the car and the engine striped, we found that oil starvation to the first bank of cylinders had occurred and the bearing was stuffed and the crank had absorbed some serious heat. Unfortunately some shavings off the bearing had also scored one the the bores thanks to the fact that is has an alusil block. The crank and the block are now down in Melbourne. The block is getting bored out and the crank is being tested for damage. When this is done some oversized pistons will be ordered along with some much stronger internals. I am also looking at getting a brand new S62 race engine built in the states so I have a spare up my sleeve. When the current engine is fixed it will be off to get dyno'd and retuned as we will be able to up the horsepower with the changed internals. 600hp is not out of the question.

I would say that in about a month it will be ready for it's next track session.

Thanks for that. Yes it is an unbelievable drive out on the track. I can't wait till it's ready to go out again. I am running a Motec M800 ECU on it. It is the only one we could find that is capable of handing double Vanos system, although for track work the Vanos could be deleted as it really doesn't do much, I am planning on running the car in some tarmac rallies here in Aus so Vanos will come in handy coming out of the slow speed corners you get on real roads...
