I purchased a set of 19's from a member here on the forum because my car missed them due to the back order. Now that it's here, I am leaving the 18's on because they look so damn good on Sparkling Grey. The 19's will give the car a more business like appearance whereas the 18's look downright sinister.
I might be interested in the 19s. Are you selling?

I know what I am saying makes it sound like all the roads over here are shit but that not really the case, the main roads are brilliant but some of our minor roads which we call B-roads usually are poorer than countries like France and Germany and most likely where you come from too. The one thing our B-roads do have is varied cambers, hills and hollows, they are challenging which is great for us drivers over here.

That is why BMWs in general have fared very well in UK reviews because they test and setup the suspension for UK cars in the UK and why Audi don't do so well because they don't.

Those B-roads were laid out and initially constructed long before this type of automobile was conceived. I'm sure they present a great driving challenge and test the mettle of car and driver.

A fine and well made point from Mr Footie there about the roads in the UK...and quite reassuring as I pick my new car up tomorrow...with its road ready 18 inch wheels.

If I make it home via a variety of different roads from (Hertfordshire to Manchester) tomorrow without wrapping it around a tree I'll let you know.

I went wit the 19 inch because I think they look better.

However the 18inches I believe have a better selection of tires, and cheaper, not sure if that matters to you.

I like the 18" myself, maybe its bcoz I'm just tired of the similar shiny 19"s I've had on my e46 M3. The 18s looks more track worthy.

Evening All,

Yes thanks, made it home ok. A very slow drive : accompanied all the way along the A14by three vans full of policemen...At one point (whilst stopped in traffic) they offered me a swap - I guess a police car is a bit faster than an M3?

Beautiful car...I'm the happiest kid in our street!

I don't think you mentioned colour combo, so what did you end up with and where's the pics?

P.S.
Maybe the police thought you had stole it, M3s are one of the most jacked cars in the UK. Sorry for the stats.

I got it in Space Grey as I thought that looked good with the standard wheels. I'm in the lucky position of this being a company car where the "basic" car is pretty cheap (in terms of my monthly repayment) but I have to pay for any options myself...which isn't so clever.

A 335i (or d) with leather seats and sat nav would have been more expensive than the M3...

I'll take some pics after I've cleaned the population of dead flies off it later this morning.

The police were great, very funny. They were in 3 of those people carrier/Ford Transit vans and as they went past me on the M6 a little later four of them were pretending to row past me...good chaps!

I'm also going into Manchester later today...so I'll let you know if I've still got the car tomorrow!
