I have a gloss anthracite on my Apex EC-7's and had matte gunmetal VB3's on my 335 and am also thinking about doing my ZCP's in gunmetal as I have to refinish them anyway. But the more I think about it the more I think it's kinda overplayed and the stock ZCP color is pretty bitchen.

I keep going back and forth.

The finish that I'm thinking is something between chrome shadow, diamond black and brushed tinted (HRE finish).
+ IMHO, it is different and not overplayed at all (can't say the same for black), I haven't seen many 2 stage paint process done on ZCP's
+ Keep brake dust at bay
+ Will make my car look way more aggressive

Stock:
+ Perfect contrast to Sparkling Graphite
+ Easy to replace. If I powdercoat in a gunmetal color, it's almost impossible to color match.
- Everyone and their moms has ZCP's nowadays
- Brake dust FTL

For well under $1k, I can satisfy the urge of not having to buy aftermarket rims, so I'll probably go for it.

P.S Take that HRE finish and transfer it to my car and that's what I'll have (hopefully)

They look good in gunmetal. Mine are gunmetal. I had them powder coated with my brake pads (dust) lol.

If you can get someone to replicate brush tinted like the HRE's then damn I'll send my ZCP's in for that!

Waiting patiently for the outcome...

Might be a couple of weeks/1 month before I get it done. Currently waiting on springs, and deciding on whether I'm going to go square ZCP or not.

The owner of the white E90 is going to send me to the shop he used on his previous rims. He says that the finish is essentially the same as what he had done on his car before. Black powdercoat, silver paint on top. Not sure if the handbrushed grain is possible, but I'd love that. If not, I guess it's no big deal.

Either way, this is cheaper than me buying BBS or HRE's

That looks very good. I can't believe so many people do black and not something like this.

So how do you like the 255/285 setup?

Thanks. I'm liking the set up so far, feels grippy and balanced. The steering response is more crisp so I'm still getting used to that- less understeer obviously. Plus the wider tires make the car look that much better.

Color turned out great. I think for my car though, I'll have to go a bit lighter to provide somewhat of a contrast to Sparkling Graphite. Gotta find 2 more rear ZCP's so I can go square.

I do like this over black for sure though. Goes perfect with your color!
