Anyone Actually Tried eBay "GM Style" Intake?

I'm only looking for superior intake resonance and in-cabin sound. I do know that aftermarket intakes are just a wash, power-wise.

You can PM me if you are too embarrassed to admit you tried one of these systems in public. I am seriously thinking about taking the eBay plunge on one of these carbon intakes, which are listed as a "Gruppe-M Style" systems.

Have you, or do you know someone who has tried one of these systems? What's the sound like? Any CEL issues?

Pencilgeek tried one of these and got some decent results. If you search the forum you will probably find that thread.

I don't really care about power gains. My question remains: Does it sound better/more aggressive than the stock intake from the driver's seat? -and- Does it generate a CEL?

Pencil: Do you still have yours? If so, would you sell it for cash/local pick-up?

I would recommend the Macht Schnell Stage 2 intake. It is much louder than stock and louder than stock with a drop in filter. Power gains might have been minimal but are noticeable. Also, it's only $499 vs $1200...

I see you are in Irvine, you are more than welcome to check out my setup if you like. I am in Orange/Tustin.
