The guy I was talking to said with the "special bmw offer" insted of each wheel being 500 without the tire it would be 330 without the wheel.. Thats 1320 but I dont think tires would cost another 1680! I do need the wheels (rims) too because I have the ZCP wheels..

it looks like the rim itself is around $414 on some of the online vendors... so $414 x 4 = $1656 + $200 (tpms) + $1k (tires) = $2856 + mount and balance + shipping

doesnt look like that bad of a deal for new and OEM

I bought a set of used, perfectly mint 18" wheels from an E53 for $200.00. Added spacers to correct the offset and with new Blizaks from TR, now I have a great square winter set. Have used it for 2 seasons and love them. I will be switching to it around Thanksgiving.

The dealer package is a good package but it is certainly possible to get a good package for a lot less $$ as noted above. Mount and balance is often included at no charge when you buy the wheels and tires together.

Those 270 M wheels are hawt but for winter shoes they're too expensive IMO. I bought aftermarket wheels and going with 245/40/18 all around for less than $2k.

I think the budget component will be the determining factor to answer your question: if $$ is not an issue, then I think that the OEM package is a no brainer because the wheels look so much better than the cheapie sport edition ones.

On the other hand, as many have noted, the setup is really expensive... Especially if you factor in the cost of a bent wheel due to a pot hole.

I am myself in the same conundrum because I had a less then perfect experience with the sport edition where one of the wheels could never be balanced properly leading to vibration in the wheel.

Of course TireRack did an outstanding job and replaced the set to fix the problem but in the end, it was never perfect.

Decisions, decisions.
