Deciding Between A C63 AMG And M3 Coupe Deciding Between A C63 AMG And M3 Coupe
I have test driven both within the last few days and was leaning more towards the C63 as I am a diehard AMG fan, but the m3 couple styling has been growing on me as well.
Is there anyone in the LA/San Gabriel Valley area that has either that can maybe take me for a ride? Its hard to grasp a good feel for the car when going to a short test drive in downtown traffic. I'm not looking to drive the car myself, just sit shotgun and get a feel of how it is. |

Being driven around and driving the cars are completely different sensations.
I've done both in both cars. The AMG "feels" torquey when sitting shotgun. I "feel" the M3 when driving it. Are you a driver or passenger?

I love the torque of the AMG but I feel like there should be more options to adjust the ride, like the m3 has different settings for stiffness and shift speed etc. |

Don't know what you'd gain from sitting shotgun. I've sat shotgun in my m and in my minivan. My minivan feels 100 times better.

I'm leaning towards the AMG. I don't ever go to the track and hardly go to the canyons. I really enjoy the low end torque of cars driving around town and stuff.
Plus that exhaust sound! |

I drive C63 to school everyday, mostly local and the MPG im getting is 9-10MPG. If you do a lot of driving, stay away from c63. Also wait for the 2012 model, the interior is way nicer

How often do you fill up with gas? I'm driving an e320 right now and drive it hard. I fill up every 1.5 week or so.

Both the c63 and m3 have much smaller gas tanks to limit the weight. 17.4 gal for the c63 and 15.9 gal for the m3 i think. so you will deff be filling up A LOT more based on that and the big drop in gas milage from the e320.

Cant really count in this way because sometimes i will drive my M3. Probably once a week. You are driving a 3.2 L engine, 6.2 engine is almost like a double. Trust me, its way more thirsty then what you can imagine.

C63 is a regular entry level luxury car with a big engine in it. The M3 on the other hand has a lot in common with super cars on the other hand, and I say that as someone who'd worked desining cars. The M design team simply do some very high quality upgrades to the regular 3 that puts it in a different class. AMG on the other hand call it in.
Don't get me wrong the results with the AMG are good but the AMG is just a badge and an engine, the M3 is the real deal.

I originally had a deposit on the C63 about 2 years ago. Ended up not getting it and wound up with an M3. Never been happier about the decision.
You really need to drive both. Great cars.
