Would you consider this car?
I hope you are doing well. I recently came across this E90 M3 on Autotrader. To summarize the information:
Miles - 45,000 Year - 2008 Transmission - 6mt Past Owners - 2 CPO - No Colour - Graphite Options - Looks fully loaded Price - $45K Would you guys consider this car for purchase? If so, what price would you pay for it including a full warranty? I do realize that a lot of it depends on the actual condition of the car and a test drive, but I figured that if I get an overwhelming response to not proceed with this car then I won't bother setting up a test drive. Please keep in mind that I am considering a relatively high mileage car because I don't drive that much (less than 7k a year). The link to the car is below. I do appreciate any and all responses. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false |

On first glance, probably not.
- High Mileage - Multiple Owners in a Short Period - End of Warranty Near

Any other inputs? I am thinking about setting up a test drive for today. The salesman said that the only reason the card didn't CPO was because it has 4 new tires and the 2 rear tires don't match. I am not sure why they would buy two non-matching tires in the first place Sounds like perhaps they just threw on two tires they had lying around.

I wouldn't bother because the mileage is just too high. You'll save a little upfront but you'll just pay the difference in maintenance. Also, the price is too high, you could have bought a brand new 08 back in late 08/ early 09 for just a little more money.
That being said, it does look like a nice example.

I would if you asked them to buy the extended warranty. The price seems high.

Chaps, I setup a test drive at the dealer to check out the car and I am pretty excited! The only other M car I've driven before was an 07 M coupe.
In the meantime, I would like your inputs on what to look out for as obvious signs of damage during the drive. Also, your continued inputs on price, CPO, etc. would be appreciated. |

$29k did not include the warranty, the dealer sold me an extended one through a separate company.
Don't panic when you first start the engine, it will sound really rough...it's normal. In iDrive, go into the Info menu and look for the vehicle status and service info. If there is an upcoming major service needed account that into the price (especially the breaks!) Once the engine warms up, it should be smooth as butter. |
