Just bought media snap in adapter. Fan is working but phone gets real hot, has shut down twice.
Any ideas?

Check to see if the AC switch in your center console is set to be open? I've never had the same problem as you but maybe that could help

Mine gets hot as well but has never overheated. This is very common. There is a new snap-on adapter either out or coming out. Not sure if it addresses this or not. Guess we shall see.

Should I take it back? Thing was a total rip off if this is the case
Btw, AC as in air conditioning? It feeds the arm rest? Like I'd figure that out lol!

If the phone is charging and being used at the same time (playing music, for example) then it gets really hot. Mine has not shut off though. There are a few different snap-in adapters. If you do a search you can find the part numbers. The older ones have more problems than the newest models.

This thread is about the snap-in adapter. If you are using the cable and it's overheating, there may just be a problem with the phone.
