Powerchip is now a joke.

Just google Powerchip Wayne Besanko.

Is this really true.

http://www.powerchipgroup.com/news/s...le.asp?aid=196

Does anyone know if this is just made up or not?

Why doesn't gintani sue them?

I had Jeremys tune in my car last year. I can tell you although i never had it dynoed it was making the power he claimed. Every dyno manafacturer has different drivetrain loss formulas in their machines. Dynometer reads higher than a Mustang Dyno. Some companys dyno with the hood open, some closed, some with big fans to ram effect the intake and keep the car cool. I removed his tune due to dealer warranty work and didnt want any issues of ECU tampering where warranty would be voided on a leased car where in that case they can sue you for the purchase price at end of lease. I met Jeremy several times here in NY and I can say he is a stand up guy. I seen him tuning and trouble shooting numerous peoples cars, some for free. Including 55 and 63 MB that are fully set-up and running in the 10's. If you push any car to far your going to blow it up REGARDLESS. Driver error, over revving, to much boost or constantly beating the shit out of it. I have seen plenty of other BIG TUNERS on here with numerous complaints, yet they dont get bashed like this. This is a forum and I have personally seen all kinds of products bashed. Weather its poor carbon fiber, fading exterior grills, emblems, pulleys with side effects, tunes, you lowered your car now ride sucks....etc...etc. Bottom line is you PAY TO PLAY. You dont like what you did to your car STOP CRYING and MOVE ON. If you dont believe the gains move on, BUT dont think on this forum or any other forum aftermarket tuners dont have occasional issues. Good luck to all parties involved.

I always love when someone says this^ It's about as ridiculous as when a guy says his car is running 10's in the 1/4, but has yet to go to the track.

I wouldnt be so sure about that. If your car was tuned, they can find out. Also, never heard of being sued to buy the car out-right due to an ECU tune.

You vouch for a guy because he spends a 1/2 hour loading a tune in your car?

So if you spent money on a tune and became a victim of a fudged dyno, you should just "move-on"? OK, so if a guy robs your house and you dont see it, dont call the cops, just "move-on".

For your info. Right from a friend of a friend who is a A dealer tech.... When your car goes in for service they plug YOUR car into their diagostic machine in the back right away. THEY CAN SEE A TUNE IN YOUR CAR. Tech is told to stop working on car and service advisor is INFORMED. They WILL AND CAN VOID YOUR WARRANTY FOR ANY AND ALL POWERTRAIN ISSUES. And if it is a lease and the car has no warranty they BMWFS will not accept the car as return and will sue you for damages or it will be cheaper for you to just buy the car. They only want to see DINAN TUNES in these cars, regarless of how much power that tune makes it will keep your WARRANTY. You my friend are very misinformed. If you dont believe me, go back to the dealer and ask yourself.

As I see this thread, Ginatani has not been bashed yet. In fact all I've seen of them is their dyno and tune being called into question. The only bashing I've seen yet is from some of the Ginatni fanboys towards Powerchip.

This is interesting. I hope the OP takes that offer, we can put this thing to bed and move on...

They can see through the cars ecu when they plug in for diagnostics. True story. Only Dinan is allowed. You can thank the 335i guys for this problem. BMWNA fully started enforcing this policy in November of 2010.

Dinan is allowed?? Says who?? Dinan just offers their own warranty as far as I know.

Yesterday (afternoon time in Cali) he post that there were major developments and he would post them last night west coast time. Never did. Unless he's still typing.

Agreed. My previous point is that I believe that they can tell, even if you remove the tune, if it contributed to damage to your car. Flashing back to stock does not sove all.

Also, as J08M3 said, no tunes are allowed. Dinan gives you their own warranty.

Well you know what, their warranty is better than no warranty.Besides that the Dinan dealer who installed is going to stand behind it. Now i see its becoming a Dinan thread. I hope your car stays together.

Perhaps he is sleeping at 5.45 am, I don't think he would be typing at 5.45am, maybe he has a life outside the forum and sleeps 8 hours a day

Exclamation

I have dealt jerermy and the guys at gintani many times. First of all there customer service is top notch, and that's why so many people respect the company. Also I had a gintani xpipe, pulley and oe tune on my car and couldn't have been happier. I felt the power and the car sounded lovely.

I have also been with Jeremy possibly 10-15 times when he has dyno tuned peoples cars on different dynos here on the east coast. Each and every single time he sat in the drivers seat of the car worked his magic and great numbers were achieved with each car. Also when we held our private track days he would come out and tune everyones cars mercs and bimmers. The e55 guys couldnt be happier with the times they were running. Also a friend of mine had a dead stock 335i and had never tracked it before. He ran 14's I think, but after jeremys tune he ran a 13.01. There was another 335i e90 there with jb4, intake, intercooler, dp's the whole 9 yards and he only got a 12.99 and he'd been to the track a few times. So I know for a fact that power is made with the tune.

People (wont throw any names out there) can be out right out of there minds these days making up videos and stuff trying to destroy a hard working company. I support jerermy and all the dudes over at gintani 100% great products, great customer service and in general just great all around dudes.

With all due respect.

Their customer service has not been called into question. Neither has their tuning capabilities on the 335i which is the only car you offered any stats on to prove your point.

I was running 13's and then I got a personal best of 12.2 when he tuned me. I also mentioned the e55's he got them running in the high 10's!! I've seen many m3's on the dyno gain numbers. Let alone all the people Ive met at car meets here with m5's, m6's, cayman s, sl 63 that have his tune and feel the power gain. I just felt that the 335i example was the best one to share.

True, but drop in filters don't shave off .8 of a sec on a 1/4 mile
