How much power were you running?

I would strongly recommend staying with stock gearing. Even the VT1-535 has so much power it flies through the gears with stock gearing. 4.10 gears would just make the car a very expensive smoke machine in the first 3 gears.

True!

You will eventually want to upgrade to the VT2 setup anyway which will still allow you to have a smoke machine.

Does high humidity with high temperatures have any negative effects with the VT-535? For example is there any difference between 100 degrees with 15% humidity in Arizona versus 95 degrees with 85% humidity in Jersey? Just want to make sure the non inter-cooled kit is safe for the gamut of weather changes on the East coast.

I can't imagine needing more power than this kit puts down. Even the VT-535 is probably overkill for day to day driving.

Does anyone have the BMW performance steering wheel? Just wondering if it still works fine after the kit is installed.

It is overkill, but you will be totally satisfied and have no more urges for a horsepower increase. Probably the last mod I'll ever do. Also, does anyone know what the 0-60 time is on the 535 kit everything else stock?

If you can afford it, just go for it. You only live once, so you better live it up!!!! Don't buy the kit if you going to be cash strapped afterwards. Putting food on the table or paying your mortgage is a lot more important then a supercharger, thats for sure.

I'm sure most guys here wouldn't have a problem though.

HAAA, thats what YOU think! The desire for more power never goes away! You will get used to 535 and want more.

You know me well bud!!!!! No seriously, after the kit is installed, is there really a need for anymore power? You can't even get out of second gear without breaking the local speed limit. LOL

You could be right...my wallet sure hopes so! I had a 911TT before my M3 and I always thought the gobs of torque was too much for local driving. But it sure was nice to have when you needed/wanted it.

That's what I'm talking about- I can't see going for the 575 or 600 hp kits. But I guess for those few times when you could let it rip it might be worth it to some people.

You can get in a lot of trouble with the police and your insurance with this much power. For me, it's really the satisfaction of over taking the slow poke in front of you, or merging on the highway and just blowing by everyone. It's not about going 200mph, it's about having power when you need it. BE RESPONSIBLE. Having a car like this is a privelage and you wouldn't never want that taken away from you.

You do not have to, it will work fine as is. The car will however be insanely quick and tail happy in the first 3 gears. Try it first, and if to much revert to stock gears.

The ESS super charger is a must no matter what gearing you use. Imagine the incredible horsepower increase.....
