I don't want that to happen because I have clear bra everywhere on the front and it would cost more and I wouldn't want it for the long run. What do you guys think?

Color is mineral white btw
You don't haveto do anything they tell you. It's your car and your money. If you only want the bumper painted just tell them and pay only for that.

I'm no body shop expert...but what is there to blend? Isn't blending typically performed when a portion of a larger panel needs to be painted (ie repair large scratch on quarter panel).

It's to blend the front bumpers color in with the fenders and hood. I don't want to do that but they are saying that mineral white is a hard color to match and blending would be logical but I'm not blending it.

Right I understand. I was just saying that the front bumper is its own piece and there seems to be no reason why it can't be painted separately and by itself.

Didnt you just post the exact same thread, friend..?

Its not the the bumper has to be blended, its the hood and fenders are blended to match the painted bumper.. this is the best way to ensure a 100% color match for the nose of the car

No one is forcing you to blend the hood or fenders ..just tell the body shop

"I only want the bumper painted no blend of other panels"///

you or the body shop would have to be nuts to allow a blend for a front bumper repaint.

I saw your other post and thats not a blending problem but a hack body shop that i would't go back too. Also I'd verify the kms if you drop it off again because the only plausible explanation for that paint job is that they wanted to re-test drive your car.

Thats a horrible paint job. I know my local body shop has a paint scanner that matches paint 85-95%. Get to a better shop.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES would i allow them to blend !

Well it can, but they are recommending "blending it" because they didn't blend in the color when I got my new bumper and it looks way out of place and they painted it really white. I guess it's hard to come close to the color of mineral white so blending it would be the only way but I still don't get it

I took pictures of my miles before I dropped it off and they only went a total of 4 miles because they had to go to a bodyshop that puts on clear armor. Horrible service and I'm not going again

I know that between different paint brands there can be a colour difference.

If they blend the paint then your clear coat wont match the rest of the car in terms of orange peel. Also they will probably just mask the fenders and hood, that will leave a tape mark and in my opinion greatly depreciate the value of your car.

I couldn't stand the reflectors on the factory bumper so i ordered a euro bumper from iND pre painted by them and the match was 95% without them even seeing the car. My car is SGM also hard to match. I'd ship the bumper to iND if there are no other body shops in your area.

I'm trying this one, it has a lot of good reviews and is known to be the best paint bodyshop in town.

Like I said in the other thread identical to this, no insurance will cover a blend when it concerns a bumper. If you want a panel blended, you will be paying for it yourself. If it were me, I would never want any more of the car painted than was absolutely necessary.

Yes they will need to blend it otherwise it will be off color. slightly off on certain angles. yes... they have to take off your clear bra and will cost more cause taking that out is a PITA... if your not going to blend it... specially on a mineral white thats going to be tough to do without blending it through hoods and fender.

not sure if your in Los Angeles Area but i have been going to the same body shop for years and have done an excellent job.

if you are in LA area... pm me

I have an aftermarket bumper and it looks perfect! I bought it and had it painted by IND. I choose to use them for anything paint related.

Nope not in LA. I think I found a good bodyshop that can match it perfectly
