M3 in Santa Monica

Hey everybody,

I am delighted to say that I saw the new M3 driving in Santa Monica 5 days ago. We were leaving Santa Monica on the main boulevard, headed towards L.A. when it drove towards us on the other side. I immediately u-turned and raced after it. I was unable to take pictures while driving, even though I cruised next to it for a little bit. Then, I pulled ahead, stopped on the side and ran out of my car to take snapshots. Unfortunately the quality is not the best; nevertheless, it made my day.
My smartass also took my glasses off and put them on the roof of my car before taking pictures, and afterwards I drove away without taking them..
Yup, if you see my crushed glasses on Santa Monica Boulevard please call me; lol, so worth it!!

the chrome trim surrounding the windows is suspect. m3's are supposed to be shadowlined. also why those rims? that rim style isn't offered for the new m3.

This might be some sort of test car that has been around for some time. That might explain the rims (the production rims weren't around until recently). The exhaust and the hood seem right. But the turn signal in the front fender looks off. It doesn't exactly look like a 335i either...

Umm, its a 335 black sapphire metallic with 19in. rims.

The plates indicate this is the same M3 mule that has been running around SoCal for months.... wonder why they haven't taken off the camo yet?? You didn't say how the V8 sounded

Probably because the M3 has not been officially introduced to the US yet.

Number is 15776; appears that it could be a manufacturer's plate.

Fellas, that is the M3, thats the test mule that has been around for like 2 years already and there are plenty of pics of it everywhere. Im surprised they are running it around with such heavy camo in cali still since the euro test cars have already shed most of their camo
