Are those stock BBS CHs on the car? How come BBS's logo is not on the car like Dunlop? Nice car nevertheless.

By the locations of the decals, it looks like Dunlop is either a series sponsor or a contingent sponsor. If BBS doesn't pay, they don't get to play.

Not sure why everyone is so amazed by the mirrors. They are simply cf versions of the e36 M3 mirror. Can be easily had anywhere.

you would need to own one of the cars to get parts for it. there are usually a limited amount of parts for these cars in order to support the owners who race them.

There are virtually no changes to the engine, so it's still 420PS and 400NM. The Akrapovic exhaust is good for some gains within the GT4 regulation though.

Really? Someone in another thread was saying it was possible to get the lightweight clutch.

I wouldn't, necessarily. But someone who wanted a lighter factory M3 for the street might. You know, like the CSL. No, I am not saying this is a CSL, but it is very likely to be noticeably ligher than a regular production M3.

Well, one could argue the same for the normal M3. No car will be as fun on public roads as it is on a track.

No, but you might be able to get an E90 320si WTCC customer car, not sure. Of course, you get a 4 cyl instead of a V8 though.

Yep, costs only 198,500 € + VAT.

Not saying its impossible. Just unlikely that BMW will sell you parts for such a specialized car if they know you don't own one. They need to be sure that they can supply the race teams.

I'm saying driving this race car on public roads would not be fun. But fitting this car's suspension to a street M3 might not be too bad.

Can this really be in final form though? Looks as if though it may have been a bit rushed to market, with final upgrades coming right before the N-Ring race.

Reason I say this is that if it will be raced by pro's like Priaulx and Mueller, then there's gotta be some extra performance tweaking, to include some downforce to give them a chance to win. On the current pix, there is no splitter, no wing. Just thinking that if this has a chance of succeeding in competition, it needs more downforce. Look at the Viper ACR. You can say that it is slow in the straights (which it technically is, compared to the non-winged Viper (177mph vs. 202mph)), but that thing holds the world record for production cars at the N-Ring. So I am anxious to see the final racing version.

All in all, though, great start, and I'd love to hear how it sounds with that Akro exhaust!

The M3 GT4 (this one) is not to be mistaken with the M3 GT2. The GT4 runs in the GP10 class, a newly created class giving the opportunity to race (almost) production cars. The benefit of such a class is that it keeps the costs down for the teams.

On the other hand BMW will not race the GT2 at Nuerburgring this year. They might have figured out that they don't have a chance to win so they passed this year.

Best regards, south
