2014 E-Class Facelift

Didn't see a thread regarding the "new" 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan. Essentially, the E-Class was subjected to a very thorough facelift. It honestly looks like a complete redesign.

http://www.caranddriver.com/news/201...-and-info-news

Thoughts?

I hated it at first but I'm slowly warming to the exterior design. No verdict on the interior until I can see it in person.

Also, if I was a current E-Class owner (particularly an E350 owner), I'd be a bit ticked/miffed at the extensiveness of this facelift. The E350 now puts out a respectable/tolerable 302 horsepower.

The interior is typical Mercedes, nothing to really gripe about. Not feeling the exterior. The new front fascia fits the coupe more than the sedan and the rear, I totally hate. I didn't like the taillights on the pre-LCI, hate the LCI ones even more. Overall, I just don't like some of the rear designs Mercedes have been using as of late.

The new Benz look is better than the outgoing 40yr/o wife pleaser. There is more aggression, all for the better. The rear is a bit conventional (as is the inside, but it is always well executed sooo).

The slab side of the coupe and fact that they didn't ditch that horrible rear fender line really kill it for me. MB also really needs to find a headlight language, the E Coupe and new SL are nasty.

I personally miss the quad lamp. It's been the E class trademark since 96

Thumbs up I think the new E looks good

I think the new E looks good and benz did a great job in their LCI; certainly a hell of a lot better looking than the current E, imo

I'm surprised nobody commented on the fact that there is now a standard leather dash.

I really do not like it as much as the previous design E-Class. I've been seeing lots of these on the roads over here. Also the new face lift headlights look weird when on, because on low beam you have four xenon bulbs. All four lights come on - and it looks weird.

Here is a werkstestwagen I saw being driven near Porsche SE in Zuffenhausen back in October. Now you see the face lift cars without camo on the road.

I never come across cool stuff like that here in Indiana.

Nice eye though! You did an outstanding job snapping those photos. Thanks for sharing.

I liked the previous ones headlights..the square 2 piece. These look like its from a spaceship but I said the same about the F30 and that's grown on me.

In Europe you can spec the E63 with the standard type of front fascia. Wish we had that option here in the US.

My least favorite out of the 3. No doubt the E63 is a beast now, but that is not what I'd consider a good looking, especially next to an A6 and 5er.

They've introduced some nice looking cars here recently, but no third pedal means I won't be owning one.

Do you all honestly think the previous face looked better? I thought it was one of the weakest attempts in Benz's recent history, especially on the non-AMG spec models. The inner element of those quads just never grew on me. I really dig the new face, especially in person. They still made sure that the new lamps allude to a quad configuration by making heavy use of inner styling trim and LED lighting which I think turned out to be a clean alternative in the end. I think the front end looks taught, modern, expensive, and has a good combination of aggression and restraint. To me it literally looks more solid than the previous sheetmetal.

To each their own I guess.

I looked on MB's UK and German configurators and couldn't find this. Where did you hear about this?
