Resetting autologic DCT adaptions

I have had a sluggish DCT shifting experience in D mode, no matter which D1 or D5. It happens when trying to downshift using the pedal, sometimes it only will sluggishly drop 1 or 2 gears at the most when cruising at 70 on the freeway when normally it would drop to 4th or 3rd.

Is there a way to reset the adapations?

I want an at-home option so I can do it again in future. I read the BT tool does it. does anyone know if the ESS hand held flash tool and software used to load their tunes does it? I have that and loaded my tune which i know reset the engine adaptations but I want to reset the dct adaptations. Anyone know if this tool does this (ess one )?

Not going to reset adaptations of the DCT at home without parting with serious cash.

I believe you can do it with the BT tool.

I actually read online for both smg and dct you can drive at around 40mph, put it into N and than hold back both paddles for 15 seconds. I tried this tonight and it definetly seemed to work. The lag I was having in downshifting in D was clearly gone. I even heard a little sound happening after pulling the paddles at the 15 second mark. I am willing to be this resets the driver adaptations from driving style. Fixed my problem!

That should be for SMG only.

I know that is what is documented online but it totally works. There was one consistent problem in which D mode would not downshift on the freeway beyond 1 gear. every single time. Did this and now it warps down to 3rd or 4th from 75 mph just like its supposed to. Felt more crisp in all shifts when doing D. I am a believer.

I alsmost pulled trigger on ESS dct tune to rid this but glad i trtied this fix first as i lov everthing about the dct.

If you have an older m3 with older software than you need the dealer to literally upgrade the software. i

Not aware of DCT adaptations can be reset with BT tool. Autologic can.

Hey guys

Found this thread as I would like to reset dct adaptation myself.
Can anyone confirm or dispute if this actually works?

Personally I find it odd that BMW would want someone to do this at 40mph

Any help much appreciated.
