How much above invoice for an ordered 2009?

Hello all,

I have been monitoring this thread since its inception and have now decided to pull the trigger on purchasing an E92 M3 based on the information provided on your posts.

I am curious what people are paying for their ordered 2009s. The options I have selected are:
  • 6MT
  • Metallic Paint
  • Premium Package
  • Cold Weather Package
  • 19" wheels
  • ipod
  • PDC

The invoice is about $60k, while the sticker is $64,875. Is $2k above sticker a good price or do you think I have more room to work with?

Here in Atlanta, I am not sure how dealers are really selling cars when we have a gas shortage...People are in line to get gas for 45 minutes!

Thanks in advance for your help.

2k above sticker is not a good price. Why the hell would you pay above sticker? I would say 2k-2.5k below sticker would be a fair deal

Tebow: Go see Adrian, a board sponsor, at South Atlanta BMW ( adriansbmw@gmail.com ) for a good deal on an M3. He will even allow a Euro Delivery (ED), if desired.

My negotiated deal was $1,500 over invoice. I'm assuming it'll be lower when it comes in since my dealership screwed up my first '09 and had to order me a second one.

I'll bet that if the current economic situation worsens, and I think it's likely, that I will be able to steal the car I ordered... I am going to wait until clears prep center around December then go in and refuse to take the car unless I get another $3k off the price...

If you're going to play sleazy games like that, you can't expect any better from car dealers.

an additional $3k is reaching. I'm sure the dealer will ask you take a hike and not come back. I'd try for $800, more realistically if you wanted to play that sort of game.

+100, even though I'm younger. I'll admit that I've been tempted to try to renegotiate with my CA, given the change in landscape since I ordered my '09 back in June, but a deal is a deal.

+1

Agree with AZ-BMW. Would like to think people are more straight up than that. Integrity, and you'd expect the same in reverse.

please... if you don't have it in writing, then the dealer will try to screw you no matter what. Even if you do have it in writing, they'll still try to screw you if they could.

i.e., "oh BMW never delivered your car. We'll have to order you another one." In the mean time, some other bloke bought your fully spec'd out car for 1k more. The dealer doesn't care. They just want more money.

how about when it's time to pay, you find out about all of these bogus charges. undercoat, window etching, etc.

consumers are the most gullible group of people. business people are, well shrewd. Look what's happening on wallstreet. The rich are going to get 700 billion for their gambling mistakes. They'll live happily afterwards as CEO of another bank or company.

so, I say screw the dealer no matter what. It's just the sales person will be in the middle.

sorry, just had to rant.

Exactly why you shouldn't stoop to their level. The salesmen at most of these dealerships aren't the classy, upper echelon buyers. They are just guys with a job. What makes these cars classy is the owners. The dealerships are only trying to follow suit and appease them with the appearance of amenities and service.

Basically, just because they 'might' doesn't mean you 'should'.

If your willing to go with dirty tactics, there are probably better underhanded methods anyways then just being a straight up douchebag.
