After 20,000 miles, still the best sedan in the world(Insideline)

Here's the link Insideline longterm test on M3 click<<<

Quote:
The M3 E46 coupe proved to be a stunningly good car, yet the M3 E90 four-door sedan offers a stiffer chassis, more power, plus the utility of four doors. If the point of the M3 is to deliver extraordinary performance in a package that is compatible with everyday life, then the E90 is the best M3 ever, because it is both very, very fast and very, very refined.
Quote:
Josh Sadlier said it best: "The M3 isn't an overpriced 3 Series; it's a discounted supercar. In an age when raw automotive excellence is disappearing from showrooms faster than manual transmissions, this Bimmer stands apart."

I will miss you on the next generation of the 3 series

Guys we own a future classic. Even if BMW comes out with another M3 sedan one day (which I am sure they will) I am willing to bet there will never be another V8 in it. Makes me wish I could afford to buy two. One to drive and one to keep pristine.

I wish they would just add a heated steering wheel, would make it untouchable.

Loved his quote:

Quote:
The M3 doesn't make a whole lot of sense for simple performance, since the 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 keeps pace for about half the price, plus Sync is better than iDrive. But that's like saying Colt 45 malt liquor will get you just as drunk as Chateau Lafite Rothschild.

E90 M3 FTW!!! I feel this car will become one of those classics as it, along with the E92/E93 are the only v8 M3's to ever hit the market and will probably be the only v8 M3 because plans for the new one are I6 twin turbo.

Long live the E90

20 years from now when 50% of all the new cars will be electric, and gas will be at least $10 per gallon, you may not be able to afford running even one E90 M3, let alone two.

Other moments you may not be looking forward to in a very long term ownership:
- the moment iDrive ties itself in knots for the last time
- the moment BMW no longer provides map updates for the NAV
- rebuilding the EDC suspension at $1k per corner
etc.

I won't have to worry about that.
- My E90 doesn't come with IDrive
- My E90 doesn't come with Tech Package - GARMIN is good enough for me
- I didn't order my E90 with EDC..Ground Control is good enough for me
- I won't even have to worry about a roof leak as mine doesn't come with sunroof.

I hope it will last 200k miles on original engine..

My comment was a little tongue in the cheek.

By purchasing a Ground Control suspension, you have however essentially prepaid the $3-4k needed to rebuild the EDC shocks.

I do hope the engine lasts 200k miles and that you enjoy it for many years. But the gas might still go up and beyond $10 per gallon.
