I think they are okay. I had a 3 day track event at Road America which is 1,200 miles from home and after the event I drove home with these pads in place through multiple rain storms. I was worried about damage to my wheels and paint work ( the sides of my car was black with brake dust) and when I got home 2 days later, I was able to wash off with no issues. So I would say, you should be safe. There might be a situation where you could have trouble, i.e. leave the dust on for weeks, but I haven't found it to be a problem if you are reasonable.
