Yes, as soon as the snow starts falling (which I hope will be never), I'll get back to post my views of Bambi on ice or football shoes on ice.

And the insurance on a M3 for a 19 y.o. in Sweden must be bonkers! @champers' Dad has to have deep pockets for all this ... and did I see mention above of a hangar - say no more!

I remember the Calibra. My ride at 19 was - alternately, a 1/2 ton Datsun truck and a rusting 9 years' old Fiat 124 coupe (great sounding engine & 'box; body work...hmmmm ). No way I could afford a M3!!

Hey Champagne, I would need a favour if you don't mind - you beeing a new proud owner of an M3 you must have something like 'certificat de conformité' which roughly translates as 'EU conformity certificate' or something like that. Basicly a paper from BMW certifying different technical stuff of the car in it. In that wonderful piece of paper, would you have the official 'measurements' for the tyres if there's some max/min thing ? I don't have our old car's certificate with me, but I can check later under what number/title that info should be. The official codes from the certificate would be muchly appreciated.

Ahh cool, they give winter wheels specs. I suppose those are the recommended size?

Allright! I've now been out ripping it up on the Swedish frosty roads (yes, it's about -3c here in Stockholm now at night, which means black ice in some cases). Been slightly overrevving a couple of times, going about speedlimit * 3, and this car is a miracle. I've been having the anti-spin dancing polka on my dashboard and this car is amazing even at winter-conditions, well... Easy winter-conditions considering there's no snow.
I've also been experimenting with the power button! As soon as it's pressed, it's like a new car! I though the car was awesome without the power button, but now... It gets a whole new sound, new response and you really gets pushed into your seat! Amazing to say the least. Now... Loads of cars can do this, but in this kind of style? No way. The M3 is unique and has much to offer. Like I've been saying before so many times on this forum: "The anticipation is far from the best thing, really getting into and driving your new M3 is!". I'll also place a question in here as well. When pressing the Power-button on the middle thing with the gear stick, which mode does the response go into? Sport or Sport Plus? I'll give some more input after the 2 000km service is done, can't wait but I'm afraid it will be real winter-conditions by then which means I'll just have a anti-spin light that will dance polka instead of pushing me forward Last edited by Champagne; 12-13-2007 at 05:14 PM.. |
