Exhaust Mod

Since VS has closed it's doors, who is doing an exhaust mod now in the area?

Does anyone know what method he uses? I'm interested in this mod as the cost vs benefit ratio of an aftermarket exhaust isn't that great

Its not bad, I think its too quite with stock setup, but it really depends on the person.

I was going to do the oem mod but decided to buy an exhaust instead. Shawn took good care of me at Aspec. I recommend him

"Mike,

Yes we are currently transitioning over to handle the hole left in the market by VS being closed. We handled all their cage work and dyno work so it is a natural transition. Typically for the mod and R&R you're looking at roughly $460 in total. It would require dropping off the car as there is quite a few hours behind it. Please let me know if you have any other questions at all I will do what I ca to answer them for you. Thanks. "

pretty sure

its to cheap not to try it out. Spending over 2k+ on mufflers is ridiculous, although they probably sound better. Honestly though a lot of cars need a quality system to sound nice. but not V8s for the most part.

$460 is steep. Does it include painting the canister as well? I would look into getting a Megan exhaust at that point. Brand new, might be lighter (not sure about this one) better looking tips, cost is around $500 ish. OEM mod plus tips would be close to $700 with that labor rate...

auto couture motoring in nYc and EAS charge 399 for the mod and 100 for install. So I'm not sure if aspec's price includes install etc. I feel these prices are high but vendors seem to charge exorbitant prices due to the M badges on our cars.. Some of these exhausts are ridiculous.. 5500 dollars for an akra evo, a piece of metal piping is ridiculous. At the end of the day people are willing to pay these prices.

Well its more than just the M badge. Its the fact expensive/limited cars are going to have more expensive after market. Its the idea that companies sell a lot less M3 aftermarket stuff . comparing to mustang and camaros. i used to drive a camaro, its A LOT cheaper. and A LOT more people are modding them.

Even a "cheap" ,370z parts are expensive. because not many people buy them and even less mod them.

Yah that's true, that's definitely a contributing factor. I still do think that the parts are way overpriced on the average.
