Steering feel and camber plates

I have had my GC camber plates for a little over a year now. The main reason I installed the plates was to improve front tire wear at the track. After installing the plates and dialling in more camber, I was surprised on how much it improved steering feel. It really feels as if that is how the suspension of the M3 is supposed to be set-up. You can feel every undulation and ripple in the road. The steering feels alive in your hands, directly communicating what the front tires are doing and how much grip is available. IMO, this is how a BMW and an ///M steering should feel.

With time, I kinda took that new steering feel for granted. That is until I drove my buddy's stock E90 M3 a few days ago. His steering felt numb compared to mine.

A simple mod that makes a bigger difference than I expected .

Anyone else with a similar experience? Please share.

Sure I expected them to work. It's not the first time I have installed camber plates on a car. I expected improved turn in, front end grip, tire wear (at the track) and so on...

Did not expect them to improve steering feel as much as they did. Steering feel is usually not a reason for installing camber plates. This is the point of the thread.

I would have thought that the lack of "steering feel" was mostly a function of the power steering and wide front tyres....why would the angle that the front tyres present to road improve the the steering feel significantly? Did you change any other aspects of the front geometry?

No, everything else is stock, except for 255 Michelin PSS. This is why I was so surprised. Usually caster has a strong influence on steering feel, but I am running stock caster settings. The only thing I can think of is that the increased thrust angle generated by the additional camber makes the tire more responsive to changes in load.
