That means you need to add another quart, I would add 1/2 of that & you should be good.

I wouldn't add anymore oil if you added another half liter. Just wait and see if it changes..

It may take a few days to get an accurate reading. I usually start by putting in about 8.5L and typically have to later add another 0.5L or maybe even 0.75L.

Hi Guys,

Sorry to hijack the thread,

I just changed my oil, and it took 9 litre
(Mine is a gts with 4.4 motor) so i dont know if it needed more oil.

This doesnt show +1qt , but should be good or needed to reach that middle line ?

Thanks

Gat daymn such low miles lolol. You are good, just in the lower limits of normal. I would try to top it off though. Just do small increments at a time, like 1/4qt, and recheck.

Give it a couple days to see if it recalculates the level better. A few times after I have done and oil change my indicator has gone from full to middle back to full over a few days of driving. If its still lower after a few days then I would suggest only adding 1/4 at a time.

Quick update- so I added another quart and then the meter was nearly 3/4 full after i drove it around a little however 600 miles later my meter looks exactly as it did in my original post.. ive only put 1500 miles since I originally changed the oil (8 quarts used +1 extra quart added 600 miles ago)..

I plan on doing a brand new oil change tomorrow

Hakaj, if you started with only 8 quart pls note the spec says 8.8 liters (i.e. ~9 quart). Believe not uncommon to ad another 0.2-0.4 liters to that if you want to reach Max (i.e. full, not over filled). Hence 8L in the first place should take the gauge to half or so only.
Some engines burn quite a bit of oil hence your 9 quart over 1500 miles may very well end up with 3/4 gauge while being perfectly in good order.
Keep in mind anything above Min on the gauge is fine, be careful with overfill.
