Pilot Super sport opinion 245/265 vs 255/275
I am about to pull the trigger on a new set of super sports, seems like a lot of people ordered the 255/35/19 front and 275/35/19 back since the stock rear tire 265 was not available.
My question to all of you and those who purchased the 255 -275 combo is: Now that the STOCK 245/35/19 and 265/35/19 are AVAILABLE, If you had to do it all over again which combo will you order? stock 245 - 265 or 255 - 275??? why??. Lets assume we don't care about the price. thank you for your opinion |

Well I ordered the 245 and they are way better than my potenzas. However, I think I should have gone ATLEAST 255, but I think my next set will be 265 front. It still understeers too easily and I want to compliment my 295 back better. Plus I have 9" fronts so I think 245 is a tad small

Go +1
No real downsides to going +1 in my opinion... other than a miniscule drop in MPG?
My OEM 245/265 PS2 set lasted about 2 yrs / 20k miles. I then switched to 255/275 PSS and have put 6k miles on them. They still show 7-8/32 all around. They ride and handle great (I'm sure you've seen the threads). I went +1 for the thicker sidewall profile, which looks a little meatier and makes traversing potholes in SF a little more tolerable. Same in NJ? Also, I recently switched from 220s to 359s (and remounted the PSS). I think the +1 size looks great on the wider wheels, while the 245/265 looks a bit anemic. So yes I would def do it again. |

I tried it and went back to stock sizes. I felt like I lost some torque and response. It looks cooler but not worth the tradeoff to me. If I bolted on more power I'd go GTS sizes.

As you stated, I went for the 255/275 combo because the 265 was not available at the time.
When I need to replace the tires, I think I will stick with the 255/275 sizes. The car rides a bit smoother and the tires do fill up the wheel wells better. |

If you are riding on 359's then go 265-30 front and 295-30 rear. I wouldn't go back to the stock size..............Phil

Question for you guys running 255/275:
any of you running spacers with the 359M wheels, and if so, any rubbing?

I've run the stock ZCP wheels with 12.5mm Turner spacers all around with Blizzak LM60s mounted (255/35-19 front, 275/35-19 rear) with no rubbing. However, that same setup with the ZCP wheels w Turner spacers and the OEM PZeros (245/35-19 front, 265/35-19 rear) did rub in the rear on dips and bumps. Maybe the Pirellis are relatively wide and/or have a square shoulder?

I'm on OEM 245/265 conti's with the ZCP wheels, and running 15/10mm spacers without issues whatsoever...heck I've taken long trips with the car LOADED, and not a single rub. Looking at the clearance, it would seem that the 275 "should" fit without issues. If it ends up rubbing, I'll change the spacer in the rear from 10mm to 8mm, which should be enough in case of rubbing.

If you want an upsize look without upsizing, PZero's and Advan Sports are really wide tires with a very square shoulder. Compared to Conti3's they definitely appear upsized.

I'm wondering if that slight "extra" room will be good enough to prevent the occassional rub you are seeing

I thought it was the opposite. The coupe has more room than the sedan in the rear. Yes I have a coupe.

Yes. You can use a 5mm spacer. After that you need to jump to a 12mm spacer with an extended hub.

I went for 255/275 (mid- last year) due to using PSS for DD'ing & tracking.
I use better street track tires now, but if I had to get PSS, I'd get 255/275 again.
