Lucky you. I got a full scholarship and my parents paid for my airline ticket from California to New York. But I did get to keep the reimbursement from my college for the cost of the ticket (I believe it was $545). When I have kids, I would want them to foot part of the bill for college if they don't get a scholarship.

Guys, whilst I was only joking in the OP (obviously) I'm talking about School here rather than University. My sons are 9 and 12. Clearly they couldnt possibly pay for school fees. It's £18000 a year between them.
When they get to University though they will definately have to get part time jobs and contribute, I think that's important so they learn a work ethic.
