Your ECS link does not work for me. This is the link to the proper f10 m5 shift knob that will be lit as the oem one is
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...AaAiy5EALw_wcB This thread as all the info you need on that knob. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...773929&page=13 Then there is this zhp knob https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...YaAqkdEALw_wcB But know it will not be illuminated and does not come with a boot. I recently went with the F10 knob and love it. |

Another option is the M-Sport knob which is identical to the F10 knob is not illuminated. Or, you could think of it as the same as ZHP that comes with a shift boot.

I'm new to the forum, so if this has been already covered I apologize.
I bought a ZHP shift knob for my 2008 e93 m3. It looks awesome, but recently it has been twisting in my hand a lot. It's now gotten to the point where I can twist it around 360 degrees without any difficulty whatsoever. With just a little pull I can pull the knob right off without much effort. I'm hoping that one of you guys has experienced this, and can hopefully help me out. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

eatsleepboost's link is the correct part. It's correct that it is not compatible with our cars out of the box. The boot has to be modified. More specifically you have to detach the boot from the F10 plastic base that it is stapled and glued to. Then re-glue it to the plastic ring base for our cars.
