If this had been an option since 2008, then I can see how they could have made some sales as part of the original purchase/financing. I may have checked off that box on my order. But to go from ugly to ugly for around $4,000-$5,000 USD as an upgrade is ridiculous!

Measured from the outside edge, you're really getting an optical illusion, since the edges on the stock exhaust are much thicker than these.

While it might be the same size, this exhaust will appear to be bigger due to this.

Yeah, I agree. Seems pretty high $$ for a stock looking set up. There's a lot of good stuff out here for far less outlay. I like the Remus race myself. For an axle back set up, can't beat their pricing / quality and sound. And for those of you thinking about warranty exclusions w/ aftermarket mufflers, as some dealers like to claim. Just say "magnuson moss" warranty act, and they should shut up - if they know what's good for 'em. It says that if a warranty claim is denied, the company must prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that it was that aftermarket part that caused the problem. And for a free flowing set of mufflers to cause any kind of running issue, it would be rare - if not impossible - indeed. Just my 2 cents. RM

All dealer options are super expensive. $2k for upgraded sound. That's how it always is.

M3 Exhaust

Good evening guys and gals. Have I missed something with this exhaust noise. Is this connected to an eight? I'm disappointed.

I've held off getting the Eisenmann Race for some time in case the BMW one happens to sound good, look good and be resonably priced.

I can't understand some of the positives comments on this exhaust above. It sounds rubbish and is as awful to behold as a frostbitten penis.

Eisenmann is no beauty but at least you get some sound for your money.

I just heard from BMW that this exhaust is now available for purchase. BMW will be releasing a press release, a video, and "a surprise" tomorrow. Not sure what the surprise is...

BMW also said that the exhaust will be limited production, but I have no idea how many units that translates to. I have a hard time believing that anyone who wants this exhaust won't be able to purchase it.

UK Price Confirmation

Just phoned my dealer out of interest. They confirmed none available in UK or Germany at this time. Guess they will be soon. The price though is £2,334 + VAT so it's roughly comparable with the Eisenmann and nowhere near as expensive as some posts suggested. The Eisenmann is about 2K plus the conecting pipes (which I guess you don't need with the BMW offering). Just a shame the BMW one looks so crap.

Looks like it's out. Here's Tischer's listing at $4,100 (gulp!)

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogid=4462

GOLFFRR at Steve Thomas quoted a price about $600 lower than that.
