Amazing power, looks awesome. All depends on what you are looking for, the Z06 is a different animal from an M3.

I feel you always exaggerate this. I feel you just like bmw's and porsches more. I've owned both a new M3 and a C6 Z06 at the same time. They ARE very different cars, no doubt. The M3 has better leather quality and overall a nicer interior, but the Z06 NEVER rattled a squeaked like my M3. The Z06 is light years ahead in performance. The M3 is a capable GT. I highly suggest the OP drive the Z06 for himself. I feel that once he does, he will be hooked. The performance and sound is intoxicating. BTW, I daily drove my Z06 for 5 yrs and it was a pleasure. Even averaged 26-28 mpg on the highway cruising at 75mph.

Z06 is very nice. I don't like getting in/out of them. A real drivers car.

just get a supercharger and an x pipe.. let's see if you still want to trade your M3
A zo6 is faster from stock.. but it all comes down to your personal preference!!! You a muscle car fan or a BMW M3 die hard fan
I am an asian guy who has only driven Japanese cars and M3's .. i love the new mustang and the corvette zo6 and zr1... but i just can't picture myself in one.. If i had to only choose one car with almost $100k to spend.. probably would not be my first choice... ( FORD & CHEVY ) but much love and respect for those cars.

I never understood why people tell others to supercharge their cars. I think it's absolutely retarded to put something on an engine that will increase wear on an engine that really wasn't designed for it. A stock Z06 is a great performer, I say do it.

TO GO FASTER!!
Maybe the S65 was'nt designed to be supercharged, but the supercharger kit was design for the S65, I say if he can take it , why not then !!?

edit: I just ordered a VT1 for my car!!

So you say I exaggerate it and then turn right around and agree with me? The seats in the Vette have "La Z Boy" written on them somewhere...they have to. They are abysmal. My M3 never rattled and neither did any of the C6Vettes I owned (could be I only owned each one for less than a year to). My one 997 Porsche rattled like hell. Can happen with any car as far as I am concerned. None of my C6 Vettes ever gave me any mechanical troubles either. I just can't get past the shitty flimsy plastic that they use in them. Close the golve box of a Vette and then close the glove box of an M3 or 911. Push on the back bumper of a Vette and do the same to the M3 or 911. The overwhelming smell of glue is also a huge turnoff.

You're right, I do like BMW and Porsche's more. I prefer the German engineering. Shocker me saying that and being on an M3 forum and all huh

If I wanted more performance then yes I would supercharge the M3.........or get a 911 Turbo

I have a C6 Corvette. Its been S/C'd the last 3 years w/o even one minor issue. It makes over 600hp and whoops stock Z06's and other top tier sports cars. The LS series engines are over built and can take much more power than stock numbers. That should dispell that one issue brought up.

A Corvette and M3 are completly different types of cars. Ones a very nice Sports coupe(maybe the best out there) with nice appointments and the other is an all out sports car. You climb into an M3 for a nice spirited drive in the country. Climb into a Corvette and you're ready for the track. Dont mind the composite body panels either. They keep the car at about 3200lbs(Z06 even less). Certainly helps the numbers when it comes to weight/power ratio in regards to acceleration, handling, braking.... Yup, the BMW is more comfy and the interior is nicer but I've driven my Vette on many long road trips and it suits me and the wife just fine. If we need a back seat we take one of the other cars.
Not to mention the TQ of the big V8 is utterly intoxicating!
That huge disparity of TQ(100+lb ft) is what really separates the two cars. IMO.

Wait a little longer and spend a little more and get the new SRT Viper if you want the performance of the Z06 and the interior of the M3

Have you ever even sat in a Viper?
I dont think theres a modern car that is as uncomfortable than the Dodge and the interior doesnt even come close to the BMW.

Have I sat in a Viper? Yes, I have. Driven one to hell and back but I didn't say a Dodge Viper. I said an SRT Viper. Wait 6 months until the brand new 2013 SRT Viper GTS drops and then I will bet you the farm and everything in it that you'll be retracting your statement.

I love the new Viper, but to say the interior is like the M3 is laughable. Did you see the new Viper interior? It has high end leather everywhere including Ferrari type seats. Last time I looked in my M3, the interiors look nothing a like. And no where near the same amount of high end materials.

Yes, I saw the new Viper interior. In fact, I got a chance to sit in it at the New York International Auto Show (for a brief 5-seconds) before the official opening (before it got on to the circular rotating platform). My post was to relegate the Z06's interior compared to the M3's interior, as opposed to comparing the M3 interior to the Viper. I guess what I'm trying to say is, yes the new SRT Viper's interior is top notch and better than our M3's interior, but it's closer in quality and look to the new SRT Viper than it is to the Z06. The leather is from the same company that provides Ferrari theirs.

The general consesus of this thread was that the Z06 had a crappy interior, but better performance when compared to our M3. I merely suggested that if he wanted the performance levels of the Z06, BUT also keep (or even exceed) the quality and look of the M3, the NEW SRT Viper GTS might be his best bet...

Let me know if I'm not making any sense. It does in my head lol

I think they now have a Recaro seat option that would be a solution to the wide, non-supportive stock seats
