Last night on the GP circuit, my best was 2:22 DSC: off, TC: off, ABS: off using the Logitech Momo Force wheel.

It is semi-playable with an analog joystick. It will be near impossible with the keyboard.

One guy got 2:14.1 in a 10 lap race last night and won the 10 lapper. I think he had all the aids enabled or he is very smooth. My best was a 2:15.2 with ABS on. To see if I could catch him I turned on all the aids and it just slowed me down by 2 secs a lap.

ABS on and TC1 seems to work well (DSC off to get the back end out!)

A game pad may be okay but a wheel with force feedback and pedals makes it much more entertaining.

I've actually been interested in trying this out as well. What are people's system specs, and how well does it run on your computer? (e.g. any parts of the track where it suddenly gets laggy, any problems with having multiple cars running, etc.) I've read up on the Minimum and Recommended system specifications, but my experience is that I usually have to take those with a grain of salt, since I am pretty much running on a 6 year old machine. (Specs below.)

AMD Athlon XP-M 2500+ (1867 MHz) o/c @ 2520 MHz
Gigabyte GA-7nnXP nForce 2
1 GB Mushkin Black PC3200 DDR
BFG GeForce 6800 OC 128MB AGP

Anyone running a similar setup? Any hiccups while trying to race? Your thoughts are appreciated!

Also, I took a look around the M3 Challenge forum and it seems fast times are achieved on the GP circuit with 18" wheels where on the Sprint circuit, the 19" are preferred.

That's interesting. I run 18's. I wonder what the advantage is on the Sprint circuit with 19's? BTW the 2:15.2 was a PB and in quali. I generally run 2:16 to 2:17.

Hmm, sounds like your old rig was kind of similar to mine. Slightly less powerful, but if it ran like crap for you, then I doubt I would fare much better. I'll try it tonight just to satisfy my curiosity and see how well (or badly) it runs. Would've built a new computer, but decided the funds would be better put towards the real thing. (I love my 335xi!!! Still grin like an idiot every time I get in it. )

Had the new machine built by cyberpowerpc...was less than a car payment.

But you're right....there's nothing like the real thing.

OK....I finked out and no-showed last night. But, I have a great excuse. IT WAS GAME 3 OF THE AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP!!! I didn't realize that when I said I would be there.

Sorry I missed it. I am definitely going to try and make future nights.

i had a good time, to bad not alot of people showed up. Me and steve found out some short cut, thanx to somebody else. It will help you, almost 3-4sec per lap. And you wont get the warning cut. I usually get a 2:18 - 2:19 and when i did the cut i got a 2:15 with a really bad lap.

Now for all of those that want to find out the cut, meet us on the next race night.... LOL
