As DIYers, would you use a facility where professional equip/tools could be rented?

I'm a "do-it-yourselfer" that occasionally gets frustrated with the limitations of working on my car in the driveway or garage. Although putting a lift in my garage would physically be possible, my wife would have my head. I would love to have access to professional equipment and tools. If there was a shop where I could go to rent equipment and tools, I would use it and wondered if anyone else would also?

I'd love to have access to a lift every now and then...much easier than putting the car up on blocks to tinker with an SSK, bolt-on exhaust, lips, diffusers, etc.

I have thought about this very thing. There is a Pep Boys that closed down a few years back that has 8-10 bays with lifts that would make a great rental...like you are referring to. I think they still want like $1M for the building.

Amazing a building like that has remained on the market for so long. I agree, that would make a great rental place.

A group of my motorcycle friends and I put a work area in my garage. We have 2 lifts and all the tools for working on our bikes. I would love to have one to work on my cars with, it would have saved me a ton of money when I had my competition car

This may not be a bad idea depending on insurance. I wonder how much you could charge. Also having a tech onsite that you could charge a fee for his guidance.
