Is this dealer trying to scam?
So I'm in the market for a 2011 E92 and came across this car on craigslist.
The pictures show a white car with black interior, however when I ran the VIN from the carfax he sent me, it shows a jerez black exterior with a red/black interior. I don't understand what he's trying to do here but I'd be suspicious if anyone else is looking at this car. I'm not local so I haven't seen it in person. you should just call and verify. Dealers cross pictures all the time if they have large or fast moving inventories. Finally, get them to either fix the website or send you photos of the real car.

I did call to verify. He's saying the VIN is correct and that the pictures are correct. He can't explain with the VIN's config says something different.
