Chinese Splitters from Ebay

Just installed my with 3m tape, and factory screw on each splitter.

The splitters look great for the price $135. Fitting it on the car was a little work. The construction is okay but the underside had blobs and bulges of resin that i had to grind down with a dremel and lightly sand.

There were small gaps on both sides that are towards the center of the car. I think if i was to sand a little more i could get it to fit a bit better. I filled the gaps with metallic grey silicone.

Here are the results..sorry if the car is a little dirty.

I purchased it for $135 on ebay from cnbjautofans.

This was the original link. Not sure if its still working.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/160565471917...84.m1497.l2649

There are plenty of others on ebay. The weave is okay some minor flaws but looks great for the price and it fits decent with just some minor sanding.

Here is another one:

How is the quality ? Did you install your self? Would it fit on E93?
More so if material is real CF or synthetic look alike?

The quality is good but not perfect. The carbon fiber looks great but has some slight distortions but nothing noticeable to the passerby.

Yes, I did the install myself its pretty easy. Use 3M molding double sided tape. You only need a strip on the top and a strip across the bottom.

Yes, It fits all E9x M3s

Yes, its real carbon fiber.

The only negative is you need a little sandpaper to rub out some lumps on the underside of the splitter. If you take some time, it could fit perfectly.

Not a bad deal for a fraction of the OEM cost and I assume I will be replacing these annually due to rock chips and what not as a daily commuter.

Thanks Raptor. I think it looks pretty good but not as good as OEM. But for a replacement item, i cant justify paying 600+ for these splitters. So i aim satisfied with them.

I suggest you try them next. Just sand the interior bumps and it should fit near OEM.

Why you would buy an M3 and then slap on this cheap crap is beyond me.

Why spend 600 bucks on a item that you will replace every year or so (its my daily driver on a rock chip infested hwy) . Also, Its a component that lets me gauge if you can deal with the slightly lower clearance.

In fact, if the clearance works for me I will consider doing the arkym lip next. Nothing wrong with saving a little money.

I waste enough doing trial and error on audio systems.

Because as opposite of the M3 , you pay a lot for the name when you buy the OEM splitters , the ratio quality/money is a lot better on these replica !

Most of those replica CF parts from mainland China or Taiwan aren't real CFs, just some cheap CF paint , I happen to know some guys either works for the factory that makes those replicas or sells them in China. That's why their pricing are so competitive but still makes a pretty good margin. The quality varies from parts to parts even coming from the same batch, same as the fitment. I grabbed one when I was back home for the summer break last year for something like 600 RMB, roughly $9X in US dollars.

This is a great alternative if you're going for color-matched. If you're worried about the weight of real or not real carbon fiber, I think there's other places to save weight. I still don't understand why there aren't more non-carbon fiber options for lips/splitters/diffusers.

Agreed. When I first got my car I thought I'd save a little money by buying cheap CF parts that on the surface looked fine, but I'm inevitably replacing all of them.

The quality just isn't the same. They either don't fit correctly, or the finish will degrade over time in the weather.

Mine were real CF. You can actually see it from the rear when i sanded down some spots to pre-fit the piece to the car. But either way, I will test them out for a bit. I am already thinking of going challenge lip next since I am no longer worried about the clearance after driving around with the splitters.

I have the OEM splitters on my car, installed by the dealer, and honestly, the fitment is not perfect. It's like 90%, but not perfect. Kudos for saving a few bucks; I definitely would not get the OEM ones over the replicas if I had to do it again. Also, they weigh like half a pound, if that; it's not really a great piece to save weight on.

Paying $600 for oem splitters is just insane, congrats on saving a few dollars and all that matters is that you are happy with them. Not because you pay more for something does not always mean it's worth it. I am looking for a front cf spoiler but refuse to pay an arm and leg.
