stock GTO dyno numbers inside

Hey,

Just thought you guys might have been interested in this, a couple people wanted to know the results of my dyno. This happened the weekend before last, but I wasn't going to post anything until I redyno'd with my new mods....haven't had a chance to thus far.

Car is an 06 LS2 GTO with a 6spd, with 3,300 miles on the clock. Only thing done to the car at the time of dyno was an IAT relocate to reduce heat soak....motor was cool at time of dyno, so this doesn't really apply.

Best pull was 358hp/352tq at the wheels. I was making OVER 350tq at the wheels from 2300rpm....pretty impressive.

After I came off the dyno I pulled the car into the parking lot, let it cool for a bit, then installed a ported throttle body and a K&N drop in filter. Not the best mods by themselves, but their cheap and play a role in the big scheme of things. If I get 5-7hp from both I'll be happy. I'm hoping to hit 365hp when I re-dyno in a couple weeks.

See the few of you who are accompanying me to the track this weekend there!

The handling of the car isn't that great from the factory. Unfortunately GM neutered the car's handling with PISS poor rubber bushings. There have been TONS of strut tower and radius rod bushing failures on the car. Most of the GTO guys, myself included, are upgrading to poly bushings all over the car. That alone is a NIGHT and day difference.

Hope you can make it out this Satuday, if not have a good weekend!

Really? You saw me run at the track and thought 358rwhp didn't perform too well for me? I trapped 109mph with 1,400 miles on the car.....

I'd say that is pretty good performance considering the car weighs 3722 lbs. as advertised by GM.

I'd be happy to offer you a friendly grudge match anytime you are in the DC area.

The GTO is one of those cars that I was always tempted to get. Something kept turning me off, though...

Yes, unfortunately the GTOs suffer from a HORRENDOUS case of wheel hop from the factory. (similar to the Caddy CTS-Vs) A diff insert and some drag bags will cure that though. Fastest ET I've seen is PhantomGoat06 (also on one of the other bmw boards) he ran a 12.81@110.2 off the showroom floor.

The GTO is pretty tricky to launch. You're running a fine line between wheel hop and wheel spin. Too much rpm will cause wheel spin obviously, too little will cause it to hop...and sometimes it does what it wants regardless of how you launch. I've only have one track day under my belt with this car, and a total of 6 passes, so I really didn't get to play with my launch technique/rpms/tire pressure settings very much. I'm going back this Saturday to get some more seat time so we'll see how that goes.

My buddy ran a 12.9 bone stock on his 05GTO. How is that not great?

Another buddy did a cam, long tube headers, throttle body/intake port with a dyno tune and ran 12.26 . . .

You must pilot the Space Shuttle.

We got it light compared to the Caddy! I've raced the CTS-V at the strip and it is 5 times worse then the goat.

I've raced my goat at the drag strip for 3 years now with a boat load of runs and since my Konis/drag bags and drag radials I've had none. I can launch and cut 1.7 60fts all day long with my 6 speed but practice makes perfect - and a good clutch!
