Newb question about door chime
I'm not really a newbie, but I got a newbie question.
When I park my car, shut the engine down, and immediately open my driver door, sometimes I get chime sounds. I assume it's reminders for opened windows, trunk, lights, moonroof, locks, key in ignition, etc. The problem is, I noticed that it still chimes when I have shut and closed everything down, but only chimes when I open my door right away after I shut the car down. If I shut it down, remove my key and wait for 5 sec, then open my door, no chime... Anyone know why it chimes this way, drives me nuts b/c I think I left my windows down or something. |

In my E92 335 I often get one errant chime accompanied by the 'key' icon in the dash when pulling the door lever as I pop the key out of the dash (no comfort access for me). Apparently the key doesn't have to be IN the dash to get recognized by the idiot alarm; really really close to the slot will do. Try placing the key right next to the slot and if your door chime comes back this is probably it.
