Just curious, how were the stops between the gas stations in middle America? Just right or did you find yourself freaking out about getting low on gas? Did they have 91+ out there or did you have to settle for less?

There were plenty of gas stations. Middle America isn't what you need to worry about, especially on the interstates. When I was on I-70 in Kansas, Colorado, and Utah, I had absolutely no problems finding top tier stations (Conoco or Shell).

The parts you need to be weary of is when you drive the US-routes in rural America. I never had an issue, but US-20 in eastern Oregon only had a single top-tier gas station in about 250 miles between Bend, Oregon and Idaho boarder. Just do your computations correctly, and remain consistent in throttle when you think you're cutting it close.

In terms of premium octanes. Missouri is about the last western state you will find 93. Kansas and high elevation states (Wyoming, Idaho, Utah) had 91, and Oregon had 92.
