Annoying Noise

I presently have 3600 miles on my car. My brakes have been squeling for the past month and a half. Do any of you guys have the same problem? And if so how often do you here this noise when coming to a slow stop? BMW says this is normal. They changed the brake pads and greased them and I am still hearing this annoying sound. The car has been serviced for this twice and they can not resolve the problem. Do you have any suggestions? I just cant stand this noise.

this topic has been discuss a few times, but to answer your question quickly, it's normal. all our cars do it, especially if you're hard on your brakes.

They greased the pads? That doesn't sound good.

It seems grease would get rid of the squeal, but also get rid of any braking effectiveness.

It goes between the pad and caliper contact points to dampen the vibration causing the noise. High temp lube is also used on the floating pins for the caliper. It is not applyed to the friction material.
