yea, it seem to me that Dinan is the way to go anyway, I just was wondering how much of a drop it gives you !

I've read that it's not that great on the track, that the springs are too soft?

Yes and no... it can get complicated with the warranty thing with Dinan

+1 on all of the above. I did a Dinan stage 1 spring kit primarily for an esthetic drop. From my readings, Dinan is the only spring kit that allows for OEM travel - in fact, greater than OEM travel. There's an informative (at least for me) sticky thread by rldzhao in the technical section, and Steve Dinan's suspension video is pretty informative too.

Published to be 1/2" front and back for Stage 1. Probably correct, even though I didn't bother measuring the exact drop. Here's what my before and after looks like:

Stock suspension, 19" wheels (winter setup), 235/255 tires.
vs.
Dinan Stage 1, OEM 19" 220s, 245/265 tires.

Thumbs up Before and after pic.

I got the B&G springs installed by EAS. Like the more firm ride. This is my DD. The car looks so much better, sorry I don't have before and after with stock rims.......

I've just heard that non edc m3's will be a lot harsher than edc m3...when lowered on springs only.

Does anyone have non edc with springs? Any feedback

Much appreciated

Would I go back again? Definitely.

I had eibach, h&r and then RD Sport.

Eibach was way too high, felt kind of pointless.

Rd sport sat beautifully on the car and felt great, of course a bit more stiff. Handling was amazing.

H&R sits real nice as well, a tad lower in the rear then rd sport. Feels great and handles great.

No regrets. The car is way too high stock.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

I do and mine isn't harsh at all. Non EDC suspension feels pretty much like the normal setting on EDC. I've got the Dinan Stage 1 and I like the ride better than before. Less bounce, slightly firmer but comfy and the handling feels better. 1/2" drop all around, looks perfect to me...I'm not into the slammed look. I've got new wheels coming and plan to post some pics as soon as they're on.

Did you do e36 bumpstops? Has your car bottomed out at all? I am planning on doing rd or h&r on my non edc. I would just love some feedback...

Thanks

Dinan suspension kits have custom bump stops as part of the kit (which Denk and I both have). It's part of their system to maintain/increase the suspension travel while lowering the car. I believe the usage of E36 bumpstops is to emulate the Dinan setup, when used in combination with other springs (Eibach, H&R, RD, etc.).

Dinan bumpstops have the same part number as E36 M3 bumpstops. They are the same exact component.

So you pay Dinan 1K for springs, and the guide supports you already have but shorter, and E36 bumpstops? Good solution, a bit overpriced.

Choice 1. KW Sleeve-Over (adjust how you like)
2. Eibach springs since you seemed concerned about comfort & ride height

If you are going to get springs and are at all thinking about camber plates, do them at the same time to avoid labor costs. I have the Dinan setup and thus far I am happy but will eventually get a coilover setup.
