I turned off X-band in mine since WA doesn't use it much if at all. There's a few K-falses nearby, but for the most part A-mode is now almost as quiet as L. A mode is better for highway, l/L for city driving.

I leave mine in "A" (all bogeys) mode since I don't really speed around town anyway. On the highways I like that "A" is more sensitive. I feel as though it gives me the biggest heads up possible.

I have 50% windshield tint and 20% tint everywhere else (non-metallic)... is that going to effect anything?

Yeah, I've noticed that. I try and go by certain places to match the rhythm of whatever song I'm playing.

You should disable the 'X' band, and your false alarms would go down to nearly zero. Nobody uses it anymore AFAIK. I disabled it, but still have the 'L' mode; will change it to 'A' based on the suggestions above, as I only use my detector for the highway anyway, and with 'X' disabled 'L' is not necessary anymore IMO. Good read.
