Keep the top speed governor and RPM the same and you'll be fine. Its those that can be recorded.

I doni't know if it relates, but I had a similar issue with my 335 when I sold it.
I put on stock exhaust for smogging it and when I did that I reset all codes.
When I went to smog it, the place said that my 02 sensors weren't ready.
Since I just reset the codes, I needed to drive around for 20 miles or so for them to reset.
This is in place for those who have an issue and they just want to erase the issue just to pass smog.

If so, then you don't need a tune; and if you do want a tune have the tune customized to NOT turn off the rear O2 sensor. All of the tunes I know of do this to the rear O2 sensor so you don't "see" a CEL. But turning off the rear sensor makes you fail emissions testing because when the State plugs into the OBD port they will NOT get a "ready" signal for the rear O2 sensor.

MRSIIM3...let me know how you make out. I guess you will have to drive around awhile to see if the Innotech does indeed do what it promises and no CEL happens after some miles get put on it. If your tune has been modified to show the rear sensor "ready" you should pass inspection.

so now im skeptical because ive been running stock tune and CEL came back on with the innotech....that should NOT be happening

i have my stock exhaust system and the xpipe and everything so I can put that back on in the worst case but innotech shouldnt be doing this

Pete, do you have the Innotech X-Pipe (Resonator, 2ndary Cat delete) or do you have the Front Pipe Bypass as well (Primary Cats delete)? I know that iPE says that their special design will not blow a CEL but that doesn't mean it will pass the readiness test. Get yourself at least the primaries back on (front section) and close the valve on your exhaust. Evolve-R only hides the CELs but can't interfere with what comes up during state inspection. You should be good with just primaries. Drive it 50 miles and cycle the ODB.

Thanks for clarifying... I just read about the fines of all traffic violation raised in CA and then I read your thread which makes me even more paranoid than I already am :

still sucks to be in your situation, I hope you can get it resolved. Best of luck!

Get the original cats in and reload your stock tune with the Evolve-R and your good to go

He will not throw a CEL with the IPE system....

I'm running a stock tune and still passed the readiness test with my IPE and no catalyst whatsoever

Do you know if PA will still pass you if you have one or two stored codes? Some will, some won't - in MD you can't have a single stored code so even though you might not have a CEL if you haven't fully completed the readiness test you'll fail emissions testing.

Let me get this right...you have a catless exhaust and thought you'd pass emissions? I just assumed that no cats = no passing emissions?

i have this guy:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=582681

worst case if i cant figure out a way to pass it before the 30 day deadline that i have now then ill put on the stock xpipe just to pass the test

im curious as to how this happens...is your system different than mine? i have the evolve tune and had been running it all along so i never had CEL but this week when all this state inspection stuff went down, i went back to stock tune and threw two codes: 275E and 275D as scanned using my BTtool

please get back to me on this one because if we have the same exact exhaust then something is wrong with mine

yes but theres ways around it

Most states will pass you with one code stored, but not with two.
the shop i went to said they dont mind about the sound but it said "not ready" when they plugged their machine in. I've been driving for about 80 miles now with a custom evolve tune and havent thrown a code yet so lets see if i throw any as i get into the 200-300 mile range. hopefully no codes so i can pass inspection but if not idk what im gonna do. probably just put on stock x pipe i guess

You won't pass unless you remove the tune and put the stock X pipe back on. Mass requires Catalyst monitor to run and with a tune, that monitor is disabled. I read Mass allows 2 monitors to be "not ready" but Catalyst is one that MUST be ready. Sorry for the bad news.
