AFE high flow filter

I'm thinking about buying the EFE High Flow air filter. I understand the sound it produces is quite nice (a good mod for the $$$).

The question I have is...do I buy the dry or pre oiled version? Is one better then the other and if so why?

Thanks in advance for your input

The dry one is 90% maintenance free - you only have to "knock" off the dirt every 40,000kms or rinse with warm water if really dirty. It offers less airflow than the oiled one but protects better against unwanted things entering intake track (the difference is very small according to AFE website).

The oiled one must be cleaned like the dry one, but must also be re-oiled using aFE's kit or similar (K&N Filter cleaning kit - $25 at most auto stores). It takes about 10 minutes plus soaking time. The oiled one offers more airflow but less filtration capability.

Thanks for your input.

I was leaning towards dry and you've just sealed the deal for me. Dry it will be
