Does the akra evolution setup smell?
As above really, thinking of getting the akra evo. Got the E93 convertible and I don't really want it smelling in traffic with the roof down / windows open?
Ill be getting the ESS akra tune with it also. Thanks |

Not really. I have never had a bad smell from mine other than when idling in a parking lot or something. That being said, remember that the Evo runs just two 100 cell cats. Eventually, like all hi flow cats, it will burn out and you will have some. It's a great exhaust. I'm sure you won't regret it!

Only at cold start in your garage. If you're out and about (i.e. if you're not parked and you don't have your nose inside the tailpipe, have fun with that by the way) it doesn't. Windows down, I don't smell anything.

maybe im not sensitive to the smell, but I had a catless 335 and it smelled a bit (not enough to bother me or most), the M3 with Akra doesnt smell to me at all. no different to me than the honda accord sitting next to it except a bit more exhaust gas
wouldnt let that hold you back at all

I agree with all of the above... the high flow cats in the Evo system do a good job of eliminating most of the bad smell. On cold start you'll need to wait a few minutes for complete cat light-off, so that's where the smell will be prevalent.

Its either the akra evo with their ESS tune or a Eisenmann race with challenge Street/Sport X pipe. Might get the street as it retains the primary cats and there is no chance of smell. Any reviews on the latter? |
