Broken Exhaust Bracket

Just an FYI - I have been experiencing vibration and the dealer took a good look and found a broken exhaust clamp above the muffler. Exhaust needs to be dropped and clamp replaced. Quality of exhaust clamps not the best.

Anything can be over tightened or a production flaw...

Have you seen the aftermarket ones? A rare failure; it happens. Good luck.

update: Dealer says the bracket is attached to the exhaust system and since it's stainless steel, it can't be welded back on. So they have to replace both mufflers and rear exhaust! Amazing. If your exhaust bracket breaks you will have to replace your whole exhaust.

You should ask them if you can get a credit on the factory exhaust towards a M performance exhaust. This is your chance to upgrade son!

Ah, you and I both think alike. That is exactly what I asked. However, credit was only $1,200 so I decided not to do it.

You can probably buy an lightly used OEM exhaust here for less than $150. The $1200 credit is not that bad if the M Performance Exhaust is reasonably priced to begin with.

M performance exhaust is over $4,000. Not worth it in my opinion.

Not if you hit up one of the Dealer sponsors on here! I don't think you get the credit though if you don't buy it from them...

My car is going in for this same problem on Oct 3rd! Fingers crossed for a broken clamp so I can upgrade to the M Performance Exhaust

crap i think i have this as well. is it a buzz sound. ive been under there trying to figure out the issue and thought it was the new challenge sport x pipe i installed but nothing is loose or touching. they will probably not replace if that is the case because of the install of aftermarket center exhaust section.

Which of the several exhaust brackets (not clamps) was broken? Just curious. Good luck.

finally got my exhaust rattle/buzz sorted out today. took it to the dealer and they said my brackets are fine on the exhaust just slight contact with the new xpipe and the black crossmember that runs under it. i had the car up on jacks today and put 2 washers 1 on each side of the center bolts that locate the exhaust onto the crossmember. i put them on the top side so held the exhaust a little higher up and created just enough space between the crossmember and exhaust to make my buzz go away.
