Picking up my new 08 M3 tomorrow
Just a post to introduce myself.
I should be picking up my leftover 08 E92 tomorrow. The deal is done but the car is a couple hundred miles away so I'm trying to figure out when I can go pick it up. Feel like I got a pretty good deal, not the best deal I've seen on the board but good none the less. $15,360 off of sticker, + floor mats, key chain, and an additional year and 10K miles of "good faith" warranty through the selling dealer in writing. The only downside is the car was punched a little over a year ago so I'm losing out on that end but for used car money I'm getting a "new" car with 150 miles. She's Melbourne Red with beige extended leather, premium package, Tech package, 19's, moonroof, Satellite and HD radio, enhanced premium sound. Pretty well fully loaded, no heated seats but my Wife would be the only one to use that feature. I would have rather had the CF roof and no moonroof but beggars can't be choosers. |

Hopefully it sitting around for the last ~2 years won't have any negative impact on reliability. Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm excited. It's my early 30th birthday present to myself. |

I have wanted an M3 for about 11 years now, and she knows this all too well... So yesterday, she told me that she got me my dream car for my 38th birthday (which is next month) but would give me my gift early. She told me to follow her outside, and there, sitting in our driveway... ...was an 1/18th scale model of an E92 Coupe. Congrats on your new purchase and don't forget that once you have it: |

A car with 150 miles IS NEW. Sitting around a dealership does not make any difference. Great car (you may THINK you know, but wait till you drive it for 6 months) awesome deal.
Don't feel one bit like a beggar. You are the smart one, not the dumb dumbs who paid over list because they had to be the first ones on the block with the new M. Good luck and have fun! |

Wow... What a deal! I wish I could find a deal around my way like that. There's a used '08 E92 that I'm eyeing, but it only has ~3000 miles on it. I'm going to stop by the dealer tomorrow to see what I might be able to work out.

Make sure you get that "Good faith" warranty IN WRITING and make sure it includes labor.
I got an X5 with a "Good Faith" warranty extension, but when I had trouble with the dash lights during that Good Faith warranty, they wanted to charge me labor!!

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
